Newfoundland Environmental Services Limited has a modern three phase oily water separation facility with capacity and licensed storage of up to one million litres of product. Constructed in 1999, the facility is a self-bermed, explosion-proof, multi-use building that also includes a pit area and installations for centrifuge and tri-canter applications. Besides oily water separation, the building is equipped to process drill cutting and other liquid waste from the petroleum industry. The process recovers valuable base oils, sanitary water discharge and recycles oil based drilling mud for reuse in the industry. The storage facility consists of fifteen separate tanks, some with heat capabilities all enclosed in two hydrocarbon impermeable membrane dykes to national codes.
This modern facility is purposely flexible to react well to the growing ever-changing needs of the offshore oil industry, as well as, being proactive in developing ways and means of servicing the industry. Newfoundland Environmental Services Limited works in conjunction with its sister company, Crosbie Industrial Services to provide valuable asset to Canada's East Coast Industrial base and oil and gas industry.
